A collection of writing, thoughts, and media, both new and old.

In the City of God is set a throne, and he that sits thereon is to look upon as a jasper and a sardonyx. Out of the throne proceed flashes of lightning, peals of thunder, voices. They do homage to Him that sits sits on the throne, Him who is outside of Time, saying, “It is worthy, Lord and God, that we should give to Thee glory and honor and power, for it is Thou who hast made all things, and for Thy pleasure they consist.” And every thing that is, in heaven and earth and under the earth and in the sea, is saying, “Blessing and honor and glory and power be to Him who sits on this throne, to the Lamb, till ages meet in ages. Amen”

So it is, John says, in heaven; so it must be on earth. If we ever are to behold security, serenity, peace, for the sons and daughters of men, the King must be obeyed. Law comes from God, not from the common vote. The voice of the plebs is not the voice of God unless the people do the will of Him who reigns over Nature and Man as well as in the skies. Democracy is only a larger curse except it be in fulfillment of Theocracy. God reigns, not man.

Almighty and everlasting God, whose will it is to restore all things in your well-beloved Son, the King of kings and Lord of lords: Mercifully grant that the peoples of the earth, divided and enslaved by sin, may be freed and brought together under his most gracious rule; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
